Add Markers To Automation As Well?

Firstly, some nice new features in 2.7, thanks :)

I love the zoom out feature the most, that’s something I’ve been wanting. The problem with trackers sometimes is that it’s hard to judge where you are in the time of the song.

Would it be possible to add markers for the envelopes? Or maybe inherit the pattern names at least? It would be great to have that, atm I’m needing to use automation on bass guitar for various sections in the song and it’s tricky to remember where/when parts sections being and end with relation to how long the song is.

Keep up the great work :D

You mean tracknames?
The automation envelopes now carry the pattern-number in the upper left corner

maybe next to the pattern numbers that are now present in a fully zoomed out automation editor, also have the pattern names (the text expandable field next to the pattern matrix) there?

No I mean, in the envelope view of the automation section, when zoomed out, it’d be cool to see the pattern names, where one would label things like “Verse one” “bridge to chorus” and so forth.

Unless I’ve lost the plot ;)

+1 that’s what I’m talkin’ bout right there.

hmm, pretty good idea if you ask me.

Yes indeed,

but…if you have a lot of patterns, there is hardly space for descriptions if zoomed out completely.

Good point, I think a toggle between pattern names / custom marker names would suffice.

Names I’d find useful… what about colours?

Suggestion: Full pattern names regardless of zoom level, THEN alternating top/bottom corner positioning for all pattern names when any one name doesn’t fit, THEN truncation when names are too long to fit anyway (using ellipses “…” or faded right-edge), and THEN finally tooltips to reveal truncated pattern names.

Solved? :)

EDIT: Numbers always show, to the left of the pattern names. If there is absolutely NO room for pattern names, then they disappear and you hover the pattern number to see the pattern-name as a tooltip.

I was also thinking about that…
