Advanced Edit: Save & Recall Workflow Presets

Presets:

The Advanced Edit panel is one of the most powerful editing tools in Renoise, but many workflows require repeatedly configuring the same options before performing an operation.

It would be very useful to have a Save & Recall Preset system for the entire Advanced Edit panel.

A preset could store the complete Advanced Edit configuration, including (where applicable):

  • Pattern Content Mask (Notes, Instruments, Volume, Panning, Delay, Effects, etc.)

  • Selection scope

  • Track / Group / Song scope

  • Any other relevant Advanced Edit options

Example presets:

  • Instrument Only – Selection + Instruments

  • Notes + Instruments – Selection + Notes + Instruments

  • Velocity Only – Selection + Volume

  • Automation Only

  • Whole Group Edit

  • Whole Song Edit

Many users repeatedly switch between the same combinations dozens of times during a session. Having recallable presets would eliminate repetitive setup and make complex editing workflows significantly faster.

Renoise already uses preset and recall concepts in other areas of the application. Bringing a similar mechanism to the Advanced Edit panel would improve workflow consistency without changing any existing editing functionality. It would simply allow users to instantly restore their preferred Advanced Edit configurations with a single click or keyboard shortcut.

This is purely a workflow enhancement. It does not introduce new editing features; it removes repetitive configuration and allows users to build faster, project-specific editing workflows.

Great idea! :+1:

Legit one of the best ideas I’ve seen in a while here, despite the simplicity. Simple but important. I use the Advanced Edit tools all the time and am constantly unchecking/checking the ‘mask’ layers.
