Excellent game. The difficultylevel and puzzles are spot-on. It only takes minutes to download and install UAE and the game can be found on page 14 from here.
Now you have no excuse not to play this on weekend

Excellent, thanks. Yeah, I really do have no excuse, as I’m currently down with Tonsillitis, and some old school adventure gaming might just be the right thing to pass the time hehe

Apparently nobody has yet mentioned Grim Fandango, it’s beautiful in every way. Also Psychonauts has some adventure-like elements. Both were designed by Tim Schafer of Monkey Island and Full Throttle fame.

You need to install the package:
libsdl1.2-dev
