Akai With Renoise

Hello.

Is it possible to use AKAI instruments (e.g. http://www.spectrasonics.net/libraries/symphonyvoices.php)) with Renoise? If yes, how to do it?

there is no native support for AKAI samples.

Extreme sample converter can convert between the two formats. However, since XRNI does not support multilayering for now, this is certainly not the best solution.

I suggest you to use a VST sampler; my choice is on Native Instruments Kontakt.

Or Vsampler which supports AKAI format as well

and a free and powerfull sampler? do you know one?

Short Circuit by Vember Audio was recently made freeware. It has Akai support but I’m honestly not sure how in-depth it is (simply haven’t tried it myself, since I don’t work with Akai samples). Definitely worth a look though, as I hear nothing but good things about this piece of software.

It supports the floppy formats (S5k, S6k, Z4 and Z8) but not for instance the Akai 3000 CD’s.
