That’s my plan. I’m planning to add page to my website for Renoise songs, instuments, samples etc.
The next 2 are ready:
Full Contact and Gods intro music:
Full Contact - Intro Music.xrns (109.2 KB)
Gods - Intro Music.xrns (299.7 KB)
The next two are from one of my top 2 games. Moonstone
Moonstone - Intro scene.xrns (113.5 KB)
Moonstone - Ending scene.xrns (74.5 KB)
These out of context sound very cool and avantgarde, have to check more soundtracks by this composer
upd: composer Richard Joseph

I don’t usually mess around with it; I just import the MOD file and break it down into separate channels by instrument. (I leave the manufactured chords and drums as they are—Desert Dream ended up being about 30 tracks).
Then, I replace the instruments with VSTs that I like. I fix the effects or handle the automation, depending on which VSTs and effects are on the channel. I usually rewrite the drums, since I don’t use samples most of the time. Then, I optimize everything.
Sometimes, however, I leave the original music intact and just swap the instruments. It depends on my mood or how complex the music and the track structure are. I’ve processed over 70 songs this way. Most of them are either ready or just waiting for mastering. I’m planning to upload them to Bandcamp soon.
For instance, I rewrote the Shadow of the Beast soundtrack as a joke because no one could extract it from the game. I had some of the samples, and I re-produced two of them myself. I layered the original recorded tracks underneath, cut them into patterns, and wrote my own music over each pattern. Finally, I muted the original audio. I think it turned out pretty close to the original
ShadowOfTheBeast_Theme.xrns (172.9 KB)
This is wonderful stuff. Very much appreciated.
I don’t wish to make a new thread, when I feel like the answers would be on topic here. I would just like to know if any of the recent nostalgia releases can do what I have longed hoped for. All I wish to do is set up a Amiga, run octaMED, slide my old music discs in, load them up (assuming they still even work), and record/capture the sound. I honestly don’t care about transitioning tracker data, I simply want to capture audio, and can find a way around that somehow. I just need to know for certain if one of these new units actually has a working floppy drive. The one I noted some time ago was just a shell. Hopefully the answer is a flat out no, or a simple “buy this one”.
Sorry for asking here, but it seemed the better than a new thread. Any pointers would be wonderful.
Dou you mean the new Amiga Mini? This is not a real Amiga. It’s just an emulator in an Amiga style case with pre-installed games.
For playing games that are not installed on the Amiga Mini you have to convert your amiga game disks to an ADF file (Amiga Disk File)
This ADF file then can be copied/loaded via USB from your PC to the Amiga Mini.
But if you wanna read your old Amiga disks on a PC, you need specailized hardware in your PC because the PC floppy drives (if you still use one) are not compatible to Amiga disks.
And if you never converted an Amiga disk to an ADF directly on the real machine, this could be very difficult.
But most Amiga games and also music trackers like octaMED can be found as ADF files in internet. Just search for Amiga ADF games/ADF trackers. Or directly search for Amiga octaMED ADF😉
I wouldn’t pin too many hopes on those Amiga floppies. The data on them could have been destroyed long ago. OpenMPT easily handles mmd, dbm, med, it, xm, and s3m formats. If you insist, there is UAE. If you manage to get hold of a drive somehow, You can copy them onto a Directory (that’s an HDD partition emulation). A PC can see inside that, so you can copy stuff in and out. I have an installed Amiga system. If you need it, I can upload it somewhere as a zip (060+Picasso installed system). I have TFMX and Musicline editor, but I can throw in OctaMED and Digibooster too. For example, I used ‘say’ under Workbench 1.3 because I needed that nice, classic machine voice (there are VSTs for C64 speech synthesis, but not for Amiga).
That’s the other side of the old Amiga disks if they haven’t stored properly. I upgraded my Amiga 1200 with a Blizzard PPC/603e some years ago that i luckily became from a friend, because his A1200 died.
My A1200 is recapped, got a Gotek USB Drive with the right firmware update to read ADF files and i converted all my disks to ADF files to load them via the Gotek drive and USB sticks.
When I’m sitting in front of my PC at home, 80% of the time I’m tweaking Renoise. But there are times when I lack inspiration; in those moments, I work on Amiga music remakes (the C64 stuff has been put aside for now, after finishing 20 tracks). I try to stay as close to the original vibe as possible. There is no smeared reverb mess and no loudness war. I have about 70+ tracks in total. I’m uploading them nice and slow. Right now, it’s time for the scene tracks, and then the game music will follow.
Ah I have some fake stereo versions of famous MODs, but some are requiring a commercial deeser plugin… Any idea for a good replacement? I guess ToneBoosters: TB_Sibalance_v3 will be a good one…
Would be cool if there is some kind of repository for these kind of .xrns’s
There is: Index of /pub/modules/Renoise/
