This is a feature Cubase also has. It’s really handy if you test different versions or want easily to remember ideas on a instrument for later usage.
If you click on “Track DSPs”, there should be a minimizable/maximizable annotation view, maybe implemented thru a meta device?

There is a Tool to do similar using Song Comments but it is kinda messy I guess.
In theory you could abuse the Formula Device for this. Adding notes to yourself in the Formula or User area, rather than writing real functions, although a little Notepad Meta Device specifically designed for this would obvious be a better idea.
it is a nice idea. i do think this doesn’t really belong in the 2.8 ideas/suggestions subforum, but in the regular one, as this is in no way something that will be done for 2.8.
