Another Bpm /speed Question

I’m thinking of using Renoise for some glitchy beat goodness. Otherwise I’m using Ableton Live (great program BTW), but the direct sample manipulation possibilities in Renoise is very appealing.

However, I’m having some problems getting my head around the speed/BPM/pattern steps business.

By default Renoise is set up so that every pattern step is a 16th. But say I want to have 32nds or 64ths as my pattern step?

32nds, I think I can figure out: Double the pattern length and set speed to 3 - then I would have 32nds, right? If I also change the highlight to every 8 steps, the highlight would still fall on the beat - I think?

But 64ths?

Is the 32nds method above the right way of doing it?

I will probably be back with more newbie questions…

you can still double the BPM value (on the GUI or by using the F1xx command, limited to 256 (FF) value)

Doubling the BPM won’t work if I already have say 175 BPMs (or 200…) as my base value.

Drill n Bass all the way! :D

The bpm goes up to 500.

You could double 175bpm to 350bpm and use speed 3, giving you 64th notes on every row.

Ah…the BPM limitation of FF (256) is only when using it in a track.

BTW, thanks for your cool Glitch plug-in, dblue.
