This is the greatest moment of your life, man! And you’re off somewhere missing it.

I used to be part of Art of Living groups here in India run by Shri Shri Ravi Shanker and I used to undertake his ‘soham’ meditation sessions which involved rapid and rhythmic breathing and chanting of the word ‘soham’ to induce some sort of trance and meditative state (allegedly to remove toxins from the body). I also did some longer meditation sessions with them but found it very boring. Also after those initial years the inner workings and of his ‘business’ became more evident and it is a scammy venture for a good part of it. Anyways, yoga snap meditation are branded as demonic forces attractive activities. Those weird human contortions are attractive to demons and can and has brought possessions to the uninitiated. Meditation opnes your mind to demonic attacks by supposedly ‘thinking passively’ and ‘just letting the thoughts flow’ and trying to relinquish any concious thought. This is a dangerous process because it’s the precursor to many possessions and similar drug induced states. Without the conciousness acting as a barrier, to willingly let thoughts and moods enter freely without admittance privilege is asking for trouble, becos by definition anything can venture in. Rather than meditation, rigorous strength training, vegetable oriented diet, deep focus and thinking in one’s work or trade or pursuit of choice and a disciplined daily routine with good amounts of balanced sleep and rest is the best meditation life can give you. In my opinion apart from sleep and concious thought meditation is a waste of time and has roots in Occult activity where seances start with meditation.

The bell sound is relaxing though and can be used a a focus device for work or study or when reading a book. Also a good time keeper.

Meditation can have same result as drugs. Just in a more controlled, sober way. Also negative side effects that are possible for some (you call it demonic activities…), will be different from drug, less chaotic - but still can involve loss of control.

It is like there are many different ways and techniques of meditation. Some geared towards strengthening focus, but others geared towards triggering illusion states, and these are the dangerous ones. Not like a person with disposition towards psychosis couldn’t get harm from any technique, if things go wrong. But techniques encouraging decoupling of controll of will from illusion perceived at the same time will have a greater risk of becomming uncontrollable states sometimes, I believe.

It is little known fact in the west, as few people do intense meditations over here. Most psychotics with hallucinations seem to be coming from the side of drugs, so here the risks are rather little known (renoised if you really wish to become insane, just try some strong hallucinogens, is much easier to go totally wrong and fucking your life with them, than it is with meditation). Many people here mostly do soft versions of meditation, well, you know, the ones where you just calm yourself and let go of sorrow for a while, and be happy afterwards. Buddhism has some followers here, but I suppose the way they do meditation is so strongly geared to keeping focus, so it doesn’t blow minds on regular basis. I guess in india there is more known about the really “effective” forms of meditations, and about people who lost control over their minds because of it. Well, if you experience it and are in a weak state, you might believe it be demons and angels, whatever it really is, it might then be for you.

No really, in my view meditation is just kind of training consciousness and the way you handle it. Of course it is boring at first, because you quasi do similar to lifting the same weight with the biceps again and again. Besides one points of meditation can be to overcome the boredom feeling, so you can train more effective, and you will then already have the benefit of having aquired angelic patience with about anything you do in your life. But that is just the beginning…you can train perceiving more of it or more things in it, and you can train to control aspects of it, even to set still certain processes, or trigger new processes at will. Like you would train muscles, or reflexes, in some sports training. I believe religion and certain madnesses come from a mode where the brain has become out of controll of will and ego of the person who’s brain it is, and then produce information by itself, and this mode involves loss of control and can have tendencies to present information to the bearer as if it was some entity communicating with him. This can maybe also be triggered by people practising meditation hard, and having the right disposition. I believe people who follow old schools of meditation properly aren’t in the same high risk as others, because their schools teach them forms of meditations first, that will allow them to get the illusion under control if it should pop open in further stages. Also these schools wouldn’t do stuff like huffing and puffing to mess with oxygen in the brain, but rather try to build up the relevant mind states just by a long history of training control of will (and letting go), so without shortcuts that make you see the colors quickly, which might also result in the mind being strong enough to have a lower risk of drifting into uncontrollable states.

But I tell you that serious meditation is no fun or relaxing thing, but hardcore consciousness training. And it can go wrong if the techniques involved are flawed…well some techniques even aim for free flow and loss of control deliberately, thus can go out of control more easily. It is not for everyone, and it can make you insane if you have bad luck.

trance/meditation is similar but I think its not the same
the acid-burn-hand fight club clip is for me a good example, it includes shamanism (power animal) immagination, passive meditation and buddhist philosophy or early christian gnostic mystic (god or a demiurg, the creator of our world is evil)

have visited S.N Goenkas 10 days retrats a few times, not everything is good, some is dogmatic, hype, wrong, but thanks to the strict rules (no speaking, 10 hours sitting per day) there are optimal conditions to learn meditate.
yes meditation is a waste of time, i know any time 1000 things there are more “important” as to sit still and watch my breathing or scan my body
but after that, the lost time comes back because mostly I am less distracted than before

one of the strangest experiences (buddhist call it sensations)
siitting motionless causes pain, will and thoughts intensify the pain

observation can resolve the pain

there is no scientific or psychological explanation for this, its outside from cause/effect and I think its also something outside from me

Has Vsauce’s Approach on the subject matter already been posted here? I don’t believe it has… or… has it? :panic:

Anyway, I couldn’t be bothered about if this thread still was about the subject matter or about OP’s earth sized ego, so…

plus: if you can’t get your point across with few words, than there might be a need of rethinking… especially in a scientifical matter as this

@ btw: it’s spelled b.e.c.a.u.s.e. just a minor pet peeve… it makes you look dumb misspelling it all the time.

@Oopslfly, that is a very well observed inference and I see that you may be practicing meditation yourself. If the benefits are as you say and as we all read about, can you provide some references or resources I can look into for myself…

I however was taking cues from Gautam Buddha or Siddharth as he is also known who was the son of a great King (not King Kong…) of ancient India and he is the founder of Buddhism. He was inspired by the disease and death around him and he went in search of answers. He joined a group of sadhus or saints who convinced him that intense and rigorous penance is a must for gaining enlightenment. He did that for a number of years, he lost weight, looked weak and still yet to gain epiphany. One day a lady dancer came by and gave him a bowl of sweet meat and he accepted it gratefully. He had the meal and he was energized after that. He had the epiphany right then and there that neglecting one’s body is also neglecting one’s soul and spirit and they both have to be trained hand to hand. He left the band of saints and went back to training his body and his mind with an energized symbiosis and he established the teachings of his experiences and mediations so far and crystallized them to Buddhism. His contributions on the physical end made KungFu possible by training the Shaolin monks with his idea of Indian martial arts. The monks were physically weak and could not defend themselves so he inculcated the idea of physical balance and rigour along with mental rigour. One cannot break a set of bricks without having the physical strength and conditioning and the mental discipline and fortitude to proceed with it successfully. It will no doubt take years to achieve it as per human design, but that is the beauty of it. If everyone could do it so easily then what separates you from the the rest.? Thus meditation for Buddha does not mean the segregation of mind and body but rather discipline for both and proper use of one’s limited time to build mastery over both mind and body. The body is the true please of God and a healthy mind can only reside inside a healthy body.

Infact a lot of older terminal parents have been suspected to be demon or spirit possessed because their physical stature is very weak and broken down and their minds are practically non functional.

Edit:

Using the mind in intense imagination and analytical sessions and deep thinking in philosophy is what has brought mankind this far. Meditation is just a tool. If one has developed his imaginatively creative and analytical faculties with a strong heart built by going through both formal education and experience of life and the school of hard knocks, I think life itself is a meditation, one does not need to separate his thought from his concious existence. We think therefore we are (I think therefore I am). Conciousness is like the mother source of how we think and who we really are, but our own variant ornsubset is equally valid nonetheless. It’s like a client and server connection. We can use the universal hotline and database to further our learning like querying a SQL table for a particular data view, and learn from it exploring the seamless storage. Our jobs as client machines however are not to become the server, it would defeat our very existence if we merged ourselves with the server and remove our own indentity. That freedom and free will to access what we choose to see is in itself a privilege.

Think about a world where God has made everything clear and explained away our purpose and the universal mechanisms. He has also made it very clear in that time that we won’t be the next God’s but nonetheless the purpose and our feature sets and the gamut of the universe becomes very clear. How will humans have the motivation to do anything anymore really? If God has already explained the entire history, physics, chemistry and philosophy behind our existence then what do we do for the rest of eternity when ALL the knowledge possible is already in publication. That means all writings or musings that we as humans ever will create is already recorded and published without our consent, more like bypassing our value.

Think about any and I mean ANY melody or chord progression or sound you can ever imagine or create has already been recorded and published for you before you even got to the production DAW. In fact even if you come back after 20 hours of noodling, that end result already exists and is long published and in fact you can check it online by a singluar upload and the database tells you it’s already been created, NOTHING NEW, sorry!!. Would you prefer that kind of existence where nothing can be ever created again or written again or imagined again? Why is this question for knowledge superseding our very existence. ? Why don’t we just dwell and enjoy like kids in a playground rather than being prematurely matured and trying to analyse and adult conversation when all we are supposed to be doing is playing freely and enjoying our limited time here.? A balance is very important, God will see it and come crashing down if we try to over achieve. That kind of world where I cannot create a thing new or make an individual statement is the abolishment of individuality and creation, becos we would be living in a dead epoch. I think that kind of world is HELL, made by an over analytical species’ approach to living life and destroying life in the end.

@Renoised: Ya mate, no worries about you being serious over this, but seriously it’s not worth it, because it the ultimate bad method to get into Occult and invoke demons into your life. If you really want to have them evil spirits in your life and wreak havoc, do it with caution and please seek help immediately if something goes wrong. Unfortunately I am not an ordained priest nor a shaman so beyond the basics I cannot recommend any specific method of cleansing becos I have had to learn things a little different and for me my routine is very Christian and prayer oriented.

How to get demons and see them for real, aka start hauntings and voices and visitations :

  1. Ouija board. Get a cardboard sheet or a large piece of paper and fix it on a wood or cardboard back. Use a large slate if it helps. Write the alphabet series and yes no texts taking cues from popular images about the board. Use an inverted tumbler or a smooth puck with a pointed end as the ‘cursor’. Switch off most lights in your room and try to be alone or with someone for safety. Go into a short meditation mode and keeping you hand on the puck, ask for the spirit giving references to someone you might know or someone who is long dead. It will last definitely be NOT that spirit but rather a low elemental, a parasites a powerful demon, a lost ghost or a super dangerous variant that might kill you on first visitation. That is why people have different experiences, becos it’s like blank calling someone and it’s anybody’s guess who enters your room and who gets connected with.

This could take about 40 min for you to settle down, and it’s very possible that the first few ‘number dials’ don’t work or get connected. Mine got in the first try itself so it works for real. Persist if you have to but it’s something you do with a bit of patience anyways. Give a few days break and see if there are any changes that materialize in your environment.

If the puck really does start moving, my suggestion is to immediately ask the spirit to end the game and that you are leaving. Unless you really want to be possessed or attacked. If the puck has not yet moved in your previous session, wait for a night and it’s very likely that a black shadow person or a smoky looking orb will enter your living premises and try to get your attention to it. Many people have also had strange scratchings on the wall of their bedrooms where they sleep, it’s the familiar ‘zozo’ demon rumour, but in all good intentions I did have a dream of seeing a pink clown who was standing on a bridge and smiling at me. It could be zozo but I think that was a red herring becos I never saw him again.

After the visitations start it’s hell to try to keep away from them.

Far better to engage in prayer and spiritually sanitize your living place with sea salt and water and prayers and Osha root. Fasting helps the spirit immensely and removes bonds with evil entities if done for longer periods and with prayers and will and strong intent.

Please read ‘Hostage to the Devil’ by Malachi Martin for his take on the devastating effects of demonic possession and the myriad of ways it tries to enter thorough the cracks. Occult is one of major sources of such events. His writing style has much verve and elan to warrant repeated readings.

Please don’t do it, you will without a doubt regret it. Also do some research on the subject before you dive in headfirst. Think of it like a skydive, anyone can jump from a plane but it takes special preparation to do it successfully and still things can go wrong mid air.

  1. Visit haunted places or grave sites and basically ask for trouble. Start playing Ouija there itself for way faster effects.

  2. Some peculiar activites make one very susceptible. One of them is looking out of the window or blank staring for long periods of time possibly even entire days just looking out and looking for something but keeping a blank state. Basically it’s just like hypnotizing yourself and asking a freely roaming entity to enter your being.

  3. Strong drugs will open the mind portal very easily and many die due to the shock of what they observe rather than the drug itself. This is another shortcut to meditation.

Edit: It’s always seductive in the beginning but becos their intentions are maligned to begin with, it mostly becomes an exercise in manipulation and detecting all this in a hypnotized state is made more difficult than with a steady and focussed brain and mind. Hence while these substances make us more receptive to other dimensions, it does not seem to be a healthy way to engage one’s mind. Also there is a strong mind body connection, and if something truly attacks you, you will have serious physical repurcusssions as well.

‘The Exorcist’s Handbook’ by Josephine McCarthy is an excellent tome on how to approach the demonic realms and talk to angels and similar entities. She lives in the UK so it might be a far better proposition to contact her or meet her and be honest about your intentions (don’t tell her the first thing that you have entirely honest intentions, she might mistake it for the other kind of intentions…)

ps: if you really are serious about this and require the books then pm me your email id and I can send you some from my stock, if you still want it.

About that sitting motionless thing, its remarkably similar to doing nothing and sleeping all day, no wonder the body and mind crave action and activity. However passive activity does not result in productive use of time. For instance Victor Hugo used to record and write every single sentence of idea he spoke out aloud, in those days audio recorders were not available or else he would be using that too. He refered to this habit of his as not wasting even a single word that comes to his mind. This kind of observation is far more productive and a lot of great people have a starkly similar system of storing their ideas. Meditation takes time and in my experience I would rather write a piece of music, a piece of code, or think on a topic, or imagine ideas or read a manual or talk to someone or pray rather than sit still to begin with. Good work requires good sleep and rest and that in itself is awesome meditation. Practicing your instrument for 5 hours a day is just like meditation, benefit you increase your musical skill, knowledge and understanding and ear training and associated performance tasks. You can also end up with boatloads of riffs and licks and song ideas. Is that more useful or sitting everyday to a drone music for 60 minutes and trying to observe something in your head? While I can understand why its relaxing to get away form the madding crowd or noisy spaces, in India it makes more sense, however in Europe where things are very quiet and tranquil most times, I really beg to differ as to why meditation is even required. You can just take a nice walk in the afternoon and watch the trees and the birds. Go to the tram and visit a suburb and take mental pictures of the rolling fields and green grass. Instead of listening to a drone on a sitar, listen to Ritchie Hawtins mixes on a long train ride on one country border to the next and let it sink deeply inside you. That is meditation. For Da Vinci his hours of work at the Sistine Chapel or his Mona Lisa is way more timeless meditation than any Yogi from India. Prayer itself is meditation and talks to our creator and rather than invite entities it keeps them away, talk about two benefits for one activity.

Answer the question (it is complete and not a typo):

What is the difference between a Jazz musician?

@encryptedmind

I see it different, don’t worry, there is not true or false, write only about my inside

The body is the true please of God and a healthy mind can only reside inside a healthy body.

know a little about theravada buddhism
the core statement of buddha’s there are anatta (all things are the non-self)I anatta (i-losity) and dukkha (suffering)
thats for me a heavenly difference to the (christian) divine ground or the all soul (hindus call it brahman)

mindfulness meditation is a struggle between mind or spirit (sry I don’t know a good translation, the german word is geist ) and body
My inside (body) is nearly to the outside (world) but at mediation its easier to dissolve complex or mistakes that I keep trying to do in everyday life, there are less distractions because “I’m” only here

The future of music software installed rather dystopian and cynical video blog:

I do agree with his points and that technology is going on a very weird direction. Tonme personally, those days of mystery using a computer and getting something to work has lost its magic on me. Everything today just works and if it does not for you just get another one. It’s not about getting technique right anymore , that ended a decade back supposedly, now it’s all about refinement and profit and survival. Ideas are really thin and musicians are getting heat for it too. The music industry is run by Jewish folks who don’t give two shits about music, but only about power and money. These alternative, indie and underground scenes are where the real innovative music happens. Music technology has become democratic and thus we have three power to choose which direction we go rather than let a corporation dictate where we go and that in itself is pretty much a privilege.

I assume none of you know what (european ) free maconry stands for …don’t confuse this with rotary clubs etc…

The same arguments are used by the flat earthers , trying to debunk science with their pseudoscience .rofl

Almost everybody in my family is a free macon , and It just makes me cry and laugh at the same time when I see those stupid you tube conspiracy videos …

Somehow , those gullible flat earth people feel they are special because they obviously KNOW things that others don’t …demons ad shit …

Well guess what …there is a verry small you’ll ever become a free macon , cause it requires at least a mininum of intelligence and an equilibrium between ratio and imagination .

So all that you can do is …guess …( free macons don’t slaughter children and eat virgins : )

And no , I am not a free macon ,but know a lot of them , all I can say is that a lot of family members are highly educated and profound supporters of SOCIALISM ,science , art etc …
