Any Games That Give You Good Vibes?

Fantastic video!!

You should be able to find something here :)

In related news, I just started playing Homeworld again

glee!

also… hard :[ but Homeworld games are pretty

Monkey Island
New Zealand Story
Micro Machines (4 player mode FTW!)

the aforementioned

Turrican 2

and

Flashback ! (and the sequel Fade To Black)

Dungeon Master !!!

and more recently

The Elder Scrolls 3 - “Morrowind” (such a great game! especially with some of the mods!) easily one of the best RPG for computers until now.

Knights of the Old Republic - nice

ah - Zelda - The Ocarina of Time (N64) - great game :o)

Guitar Hero Rocks, any version :) Its an extremly fun game then there is Singstar.

You should get any version of those games and play em. Anyone should have a copy of those…

Other games with less dark atmosphere that is nice, is ofcourse Skate or Tony Hawk, or Rally Games like Collin Dirt.

The up and coming Little Big Planet för PS3 looks like a bit fun…

For PSP you have games like Loko Roko or something like that. And there are lots of fun and not so dark games for Nintendo DS.

Morrowind

Well, yeah - you can do things you’re not supposed to do - but then that’s fine. Gets you into trouble. ;o)

A shortcut to walk through the game in 15 minutes? What for? You miss the depth of the story, the long tedious journeys through the wilderness (hunting these cliff racers and worms) and some nice sunrises. :o)

It’s probably a matter of personal taste and playing style. I thought Baldur’s Gate to be boring - and I generally don’t like the adaptation of Dungeons&Dragons to computer games. (I’m an old AD&D 2nd Edition gamer, though…) But the D20-System kind of worked for Knights of the Old Republic.

Anyway,

I forgot to mention Jagged Alliance, which I think was a cool game. Alone the quotes! “Tell’em Magic sent ya!” and cool characters!

Anyone remember HASCS? That was an old Ataris ST GEM-Application Game (roleplaying) - Ultima-style. Quite nice, though I never made it far… but somehow - there was something to it.

I get good vibes from the platform and adventure games I played when I was younger, if you want to really get involved in a game, try the Final Fantasy-series. Playing no. 12 on PS2 these days, and it’s really involving! You can develop your characters, learn abilities until you’re green and use them all in various combat situations. And, the storyline and sub-stories are very well done.

For PC I recommend Nifflas’ games, and Chalk available on konjak.org. Innovative and cute. Also, you can’t go wrong with ZSNES, the SNES-emulator and many of the outstanding quality classics out there for that console; Castlevania IV, Super Mario World, Legend Of Zelda to mention a few launch titles that still stand as absolute favourites today. :)

Pure nostalgia

fallout, morrowind, oblivion, bioshock, mass effect, starcraft to name some.

Point-and-click adventures: Syberia and Syberia 2 being the genre top-spots. And Destination: Treasure Island, pretty amazing reimagination of Stevenson’s novel :)

Myst and Riven.

You want good vibes?
