Artists Support Asia :: A Call For Help

Artists Support Asia is calling out for artists to help in their own
way. Donate a track, one of your old tracks, one of your unreleased
new tracks, or a track especially written for this project to raise
money for the relief efforts in South Asia.

Artists Support Asia :: A Call For Help

(EMW: DEC 2004) By now, everyone knows what happened in Asia. An
earthquake followed by tsunamis has resulted in tens of thousands of
deaths, tens of thousands of wounded people and millions of homeless.
Now, two days after it happening, help is getting started, and those
organisations involved in this need our help. They need money to buy
food and whatever other material that is necessary to help people.

Artists Support Asia is calling out for artists to help in their own
way. Donate a track, one of your old tracks, one of your unreleased
new tracks, or a track especially written for this project, to Artists
Support Asia. We will be compiling these tracks into compilation CDr’s
and sell them. All proceeds will be donated to the International Red
Cross.

Artists! Want to help out? Join us now! Go to

project. Let’s make a statement! Let’s tell the world that independant
artists can also show they care! Let’s raise money to help all those
affected by this terrible disaster.

I think thats a far better way then just watching the pictures of those blood hunters @ the tv .

I don’t know if the same is in other countries, but I believe it is:

In Italy, the 4 mobile phones companies have joint together to let people make donations via SMS. Each SMS costs 1 Euro and the entire sum will be given to help organizations.

The number is the same for all kind of mobiles.

Once in a time, that moneysucking companies made really a good one.

The first two days, overo 9 millions Euros were collected in Italy.

Talking about that, in Sweden the phone companies joined together so it was free for a few days to call from/to the countries in the affected region. Also they organized mass SMS:es with information to be sent to all Swedish mobile phones in those countries. Pretty cool. Some times technology can really help out…

Is this for sure?
Don’t you think this is nothing but a way to use what happened to jump once again in front of people?
What it obviously pisses me off is not that this method exists… but the fact that it was probably not conceived to help those people… not primarily, at least.

In Sweden, it’s possible to give help through the Red Cross, by SMS (3€), phone, postgiro etc…

Seems this project revived from the dead. Though, this guy Stefan has canceled the CDr selling. In change for that you can pay and download MP3s.
Don´t like this actually but better than nothing.

BTW. There´s some interesting stuff there. I think you can´t do much wrong if you buy.
