Automatically Skip Muted Tracks In Pattern Matrix

Ey, small work-flow enhancement maybe, at least for me :) . Make it an option if current behavior is preferable.

I’d like it if mouse selecting tracks in the pattern matrix would automatically take into account, skip selecting tracks that are off’ed or muted in the scopes. This way you can quickly exclude tracks from selection without resorting to multiple ctrl maneuvers.

Right now every track is selected in the pattern matrix even if a track is muted:

I’d like it to neglect the offed or muted tracks when drag-selecting with the mouse:

I guess we would then need some kind of “Hide” function as well (like Excell also has) to hide selected tracks in the matrix.

I’m not familiar with hide in excell, but I wouldn’t want the muted channels to be invisible in my suggestion as I want to see which channels are selected and which are not.

Edit:

maybe my suggestion can somehow be incorporated in the advanced edit’s content mask?

I don’t like. A muted track is just as (well maybe almost) as important as a non-muted track.

You know empty block are selected, copy and pasted as well? Thought that would be a complaint before muted tracks…

I’ve thought about this as well, thats why I think having this optional in the advanced edit (content mask?) makes more sense than having it as general behavior.

Now content masks (always more options!) for Matrix stuff seems quite a good idea in general. Now that I can agree with :)

edit: nevermind, wrong thread!
