So I was wondering if there is a way to automate the sliders that pop up inside your actual VST instrument. For example can I automate the modulation wheel on a keyboard emulator VST?
With the automate device you can automate any parameter that the VST provides to Renoise.
However if the modulator wheel really listens to the MIDICC signal for modulation, you probably need the MIDICC device to automate that particular control instead.

Sick! this is the best! I figured this out! vst automate device. then just step though the instrument numbers under “linked vst”. Now I feel like the king of the analord! I feel like an expert knob twiddler.

No you don’t …you’re just manipulating sliders with a cursor 
you can also use the effect column,depending on what number plug-in,if it is your first one,it would be 10xy,second would be 20xy,etc. i know im not explaining too well,but if you screw around with it you will see what i mean
