Basic setup in Linux

And btw… if you have multiple soundcards… like an internal/onboard and another seperate pci/usb higher quality for music production, a lot of linux distros sometimes mess up the names of the interface names upon reboot… especially after updates… This can be confusing, and the easy way around it simply is to blacklist the ones you don’t use, and linux will never load them when you start up your system… Do a google “linux blacklist soundcard” and you’ll learn how in 30 sec’s…

Remember that the HDMI on your graphics card most likely shows up in most interfaces looking like a soundcard, which it should because HDMI also can transfer audio… this can also be a bit confusing in the beginning.
