Anyway, now listen to it. Hear that sexy punchy thing that kicks on every bassdrum kick? Well, i’d like to experiment with that one as well. Is there an already premade plugin or effect that can do that or is it just a tweak on EQ and/or compressor?

If you still don’t get what i’m talking about - it is the harder bass kick (along with all basses and everything) on 1/4 and then softer sound on 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 lines. I’m not talking only about bassdrum kick. The whole bass range is boosted on each 1/4 line.

What I’m looking for is at least a name or a nice tutorial how to do stuff like that. Anyone?

Well, i’m quite a noob on these things, and i haven’t ever listened to that track on a good sound system, but isn’t that “just” massive sidechain compression that you’re talking about?
The bass should not be “louder” though, only the rest (lead) is getting compressed on the kicks.
