Hi, Blitzmax is a C++/Basic like programming language (based on minGW/FASM) that works with code_modules. These modules are inside of the bmax framework and are folders with .mod extensions. (ex: openAL.mod).
If you install renoise now on this mac and you try to open your code(modul) folder in the explorer to get access to the *.c *.bmx files Renoise is starting and try to load this folder as MOD.
Sorry, but there is nothing we can do to fix this beside spitting out a bit more friendly error message when trying to load these “folders”.
Simply click on such a file and hit “Command & I”. In the “open with” tab, choose Blixmax as application and click on “Change All”. This will avoid that Renoise gets launched when double clicking these mod files…
I am sorry, but i dont have a mac. I am just working with a team at the moment and coders on mac have had problems after installing the demo of renoise (i recommand this, so i must not render tracks every time but can share xrns files).
Thanks for the fast reply. (so, not a bug, but a user problem)
Actually it doesnt make much sense to set Renoise as the default app for mod,it,xms, or? We can ready them, but we are no MOD player, so we shouldn’t tell the finder about this.
I’ll remove the association for these kind of files for the next release…
