Just wondering cab renoise can record automation changes on the fly?
I want to pick up a new midi controller keyboard soon, but don’t know if it would be worth it to get the model I want(akai mpk49).
I want to be able to use trasnport start and stop obviously, but also adjust filter cutoffs, volumes, other effect vaules live. I know I can draw them in, but I think you always get different results when you do it yourself with knobs and sliders. Then edit them and make them a little more accurate afterwards.
Start/stop works through SPP and slaving Renoise to your midi device.
But this probably also means your midi device will need a song-construction and everything played will be feed back to the pattern editor when Renoise edit mode is turned on.
For sure Renoise can record automation changes on the fly. Right clicking nearly all sliders will cause Renoise to record the changes either straight on the pattern or into automation envelopes directly. Of course you can bind MIDI keyboards and what not to sliders in Renoise for real-time tweaking. Just right click on the DSP you want to control, open the mapping screen, and bind your controllers to your controls.
