This initiative by Memorex is something that I find very cool and features beattape producers from round the world. It’s a fantastic place to both hangout learn and publish your work…I am new to Beatmaking myself and I am personally doing things step by step my way to make sure I get the technique, theory and history right in parallel to my jazz studies as I dive deeper and deeper into Beatmaking. I suggest any hip hoppers here to partake in this initiative as well. So kool…

GOOD LOOKIN RECORDS
Need I say anymore?
Also Mille Plateaux, I mean that should go without saying
The early works and those 4 Alec Empire albums were phenomenal. Such a good label, my favorite act I found as of late has been Electric Birds. Dudes work is sublime
Fax +49-69/450464 is great, Transonic Records if you like Japanese weirdness. And since someone mentioned Datachi his old work leads to two excellent labels. The breakcore label Sublime (home of The Flashbulb, Ventian Snares, Sickboy, Enduser, Gareth Clarke and fellow renoise user Vorpal for a time) as well as Caipirinha Productions which has some really great work from tons of well known artists, see:
I own all 4 of these albums, they are really neat. Even the Panacea one (aka Squaremeter from above) is really strange if you know him for his hardcore dnb antics these days.
Honestly though, make friends with discogs and just label hunt from artists you like who have a lot of work out. You’d be suprised how much new music you can get drowned in.
Dancepool and Ovum records have some superb line ups from the 90s. Then part of Sony music now these imprints are defunct but the erstwhile catalogue still lives on. Being totally dance music oriented it’s a must check out for all of us. They used to also come out with compilations like Dance Pool Vol 1 and 2 and that is how I got to know about them back in school days. Lots of techno and 90s electronic music …goldmine.
