Anybody else see a similarity? When you produce, do you analyze the direction of your tracks? Do you think about your next move, or your past moves when you are not in front the computer? I notice now, more than ever, I am thinking about what I have done, how I can redo, and how I can move forward… And the way I’ve been thinking about my music productions lately, really reminds me about chess…
since I have gone deeper into chess (never studied it, but I play it regularly), many things started to seem related to it: even the bare act of debating with a friend on a topic reminds me of it; even solving problems at work.
I think it is generally related to how chess are an expression of both your rational and emotional sides
Look at Fischer. He went crazy. This is one of the reasons I have cut down on playing chess. Bluntly put, I believe it can make a person more “paranoid” if not balanced with good social interaction.
I have ordered my first Rubik’s cube now, my goal being to become confident in solving it. A puzzle that you play against yourself might be healthier!
