Well, you could let a tool scan a song upon a specific device that has a specific name and make it turn on chord mode.
renoise.song().transport.chord_mode_enabled, _observable

For your purpose, the setup will be much simpler because you don’t need to tweak and check parameters, but simply scan a device name.
