Constant Crackles Wich Dissapear When Window Is Minimalised

Hi iám running renoise 2.0 on a dell xps m1330 (intel core duo,2,40ghz, 4gb ram, vista home premium) and use a focusrite saffire le.

renoise has constant crackles when it’s full screen but when i minimalise the window (and keep the audio playing it’s gone) there are no other programs running in the background.

it’s constant crackling , tried many different things but just can’t seem to get it to sound properly.

it doesnt matter if i use vst’s or only samples it stays the same…

tried older renoise versions but having the same problems . it’s really weird but when i try different software like for instance ableton live there’s no crackles at all.

really don’t know where to search for an answer anymore … hope you can help :) thanx in advance

Hey it’s mr FFF !!
Rotterdam reprezent :yeah:

Not sure what the problem is…
Do you have shared memory with your videocard?

Have you tried if either using ASIO or DirectSound fixes the problem? Does changing the sample rate or latency, or any other option there help?

In the GUI preferences pane is a “Use more compatible GFX updates” option. Does changing this one make any differences?

thanx for your replies

first coen i don’t think i have shared memory with my videocard

taktik
i tried both Asio & directsound and different sample rates , latency this doesn’t change it

also tried the “Use more compatible GFX updates” option also without result :(

ok iam really in doubt about the video card can’t find if it’s sharing memory or not it’s a Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS

That video does use shared memory. It has 256mb on it’s own, but it can take up to 1500mb from your system ram.
