Creating Waveforms From Scratch

Hi there,

I’d like to know the best way for creating waveforms natively within Renoise. I know I can set the sample size and resolution and then draw waveshapes freehand, but the waveforms always have a jagged, square edge to them. Is there no way to draw perfectly curved sinewaves for example?

Milky Tracker has a function that allows you to set the size of the sample and the wavetype that then genereates a perfect wave form.

I’d really like to be able to do this for creating chiptunes and bass lines.

Thanks for any help

K

This tool is probably what you need : http://www.renoise.com/tools/custom-wave-synth

…also i encourage you to try and use this great presets from danoise:

Thanks, I’ll check out the tool later tonight.

Not drawing but I usually use waveforms from this pack for making basses & stuff. Check it out if you haven’t already:

@emre_k: nice. always good to have more waveforms. I usually make my own with one of the renoise “synths,” but sometimes there are some real gems in wave packs.

^Just note that for the adventure kid waveforms you’ll need to tune them or figure out what note they are to set the root note, most of them aren’t just C4. I’d recommend GTune (free):
