i guess its silly, but whenever i start a new song, bpm needs to be adjusted…
i cant find a setting anywhere in preferences, someone could light my fire?
When creating a new song, Renoise is randomly picking from a pool of possible BPMs to trigger your imagination. Seriously 
If you don’t like it, save a template song and it will stay with that tempo.
