They seem to do the same exact thing but I must be missing something?
It’s because there are two ways of recording automation - in the FX column in the pattern or as automation envelopes. The second option deletes both.
I just input some test data in two places: (1)a volume envelope in the automation tab and (2)a volume slide in the effects column. If I’m reading what you’re saying correctly, deleting “all automation in song” should clear both places, but so far it’s only clearing the envelope.
Are you using the 06xx 07xx volume slide? as it’s only automation recorded from the actual control that would be effected - in this case the volume control is 0Cxx.
