i’ve been playing this for about a year a few minutes at a time and i finally got to the end! and i can’t for the life of me figure out how in the world i am supposed to upload the damn Aquinas Spec to JC Denton!!!
i did the wrap up party, but that was unfulfilling. i aim to try all 4 conclusions, just can’t find the place to upload the specs!
yeah i’m looking forward to deus ex 3! will have to finally upgrade though.
haven’t played the original deus ex yet, definetly going to check it out.
all i know about fallout 3 is i helped a friend across the country on the phone get it to work on his computer, heheh. i haven’t actually even seen it as i would never think i could run it on my computer.
i go to eagames and find a bunch of used titles based on engines i know run well on my computer.
like you know how they have that rating system, the thing were if the game is too violent or messed up it gets rated. great site to look for crazy games. if only somebody made a site like that one but with engines! i use wikipedia to scan through game lists that use certain engines, but sometimes i get to engines i don’t know if they run or not.
so far the most my system will take is unreal tournament with the unreal 3 engine. but even then everything is pixelated.
i bought prey used for 5 dollars from eagames but the funny thing is.
the thing doesn’t run at all, i updated with all the updates but it no workie. it’s funny cuz, the pirated version worked.
another game that is Just freaking amazing is chronicles of riddick escape from butcher bay. that one was just like tron or Deus ex invisible war. the type of game i didn’t want to play very much so i could savor it.
but thing is, the site also says i can run Prey limited collectors edition (which it won’t)
also says i can run riddick efbbdc (which it won’t)
it was acurate with some other games
and it did show me that i needed to update my nvidia drivers!
so that a plus.
i wish this whole design concept was released open source. so all programs could be this easy to gauge. even if it’s success rate is suspect.
imagine renoise.com having a database and all this stuff could be updated every cycle to show the Dev’s what they are working with.

i really wish more game developers would make additional plots/stories to their current games, instead rewriting everything each time.
they are totally missing out on a bunch of revenue by not making episodic releases that could continue much further than the 20-40 hours they package, i guess they just need good writers, and a team of editors that don’t actually need to make original stuff but could they would mainly edit the already given world, characters & material. work well with the main team that could create a couple new map additions here and there.
cuz so many times they could reuse all their maps with a few different settings here and there making a whole new experience & twist without as much overhead. great television episodes reuse locations all the time, adding in new ones that they may reuse further on in other episodes, that sometimes become pivitol locations. thing about reusing maps in videogames though is how when a player gets back to it, the player has pretty much explored everything in it and usually completely knows it. this is where the editors need to change settings and open things up for new added content. (character set the city on fire to repel invasion in the first “pilot”, and now comes back to set off toxins or oversee rebuilding as another wave of invasion takes off with much different obstacles) so essentially what the player is paying for in these episodic releases is 40+ more hours of a possible tangent or extension of the universe.
i don’t play any multiplayer games as lag just completely kills the experience. (along with all the troll types that exploit certain aspects)
those neverending online mmorpgs just seem pointless wastes of life time.
i understand they have a rather symbiotic relationship with the hardware industry, being the primary reason they keep making heavier graphics intensive games. though there is a point in FPS games when the graphics become completely invisible to the physical player. that point when the only percieved beauty being seen is by someone strolling by having a glance at the screen behind the physical player, since the main points the physical player is paying any attention to during intensive gameplay. is everything but the Awe that comes with this newest hardware. maybe a few few percieved moments of complete immersion in these lushly detailed intricately vast enviroments being appreciated until the (closest to realistic) explosions, action & demolition begins. i can certainly appreciate sandboxes.
