As subject, I have an Athlon64 FX so I’m wondering if I’ll be the first in the Renoise community to step into this brave new world…
Nopes you’re not, at least not with an Athlon FX configuration.
Erm…that was me too.
I need to have more cafeine on sundaymorning…
Hmmz, what’s the difference between a 53FX and a 64FX?
there is no 53FX.
there is the Athlon 64 and the Athlon 64FX, whereas the Athlon 64 is the mainstream CPU and the 64FX is the high performance/enthusiast model, meant to be the answer on intel’s EE p4’s (extreme edition).
until now, there are three different 64FXs:
Athlon 64FX-51 (2.2ghz)
Athlon 64FX-53 (2.4ghz)
Athlon 64FX-55 (2.6ghz)
the only difference between those is their clockspeed.
the architecture among all FXs is identical, as they do all feature the dual-channel memory interface (128bit, 16bit ECC width) with registered memory modules, which is something the “ordinary” Athlon 64 hasn’t to offer.
