Dragable Blockloop

Tiny bump for a little justice? :3

how about changing the size of the to-be-looped section simply by expanding/narrowing it via mouse? sometimes i wish i the blockloop wasn’t fixed to 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 etc…

Yeah thats the idea. But how are you going to set the starting point then? ;)

Oh I know! By making it dragable!/draggable?!

good idea. some linkage to an out-dated thread which sparked a little discussion which would be better to continue here: https://forum.renoise.com/t/custom-block-loop-sizes/25838

it’s intuitive… although this area is already used for selecting everything in that row

engine killed this idea with his edit…

hey hey,
im just for shortcuts. dragable blockloop is cool but dont forget the ‘key’.
and dont think im able to count right :)

You can make selection using keyboard. Ctrl+B/Ctrl+E for example. So this could still be done with keyboard (although I don’t know how to make selection across the full width of the pattern this way.)

alt + w (block)
alt + s (from beginning to current pos.)

and why not just hold shift + arrowkeys/page-up -down/tab?

edit: to make it (selections) complete:

alt + t (whole track)

alt + a (from beginning, track only)
alt + q (block, track only)
alt + x (current pos. to end)

All except Shift+Tab (which moves you backwards through the Tracks) all those are valid options. I only entioned Ctrl+B/E as it was the first one that came to my memory. Point is that by using highlighting you can do it with the keyboard, as well as the mouse, if you so wish.

Ctrl+B (@ Upper left), Ctrl+E (@ Lower right) = full-width selection.

Also: +1. I could totally see myself using this block loop idea live.
