I’m sorry to bug you again wih my ideas, but wouldn’t it be nice if you have an options to decouple the playing pattern from the currently editing pattern. When you want to improvise something during a live act, now it is not possible to edit another pattern than the currently playing one. Just imagine: You can create your whole song live, looping your patterns that you have already created and being busy with the next loop underwhile!
This swould be a reaaallly nice feature and also really required for live performancing I think.
you’re not alone with this idea: lots of former Impulse Tracker users have this in mind, and it’s already been suggested. Personally, I don’t know if this is already in a to-do list
Great!! With Impulse Tracker in combination with DreamStation on another machine, I used to do live performance on a internet radio station. Underwhile the music played I was already busy with the next sequence. In Impulse Tracker the pattern sequencer was poor. In Renoise the pattern sequencer is very nice and with this ‘decoupled editing cursor’-feature (give it a name), a very powerfull combination.
