Effect Column Value Converter

With a quick search I couldn’t find anything on the forum about this very important feature I’m missing at the moment… maybe I just didn’t know the right keywords but anyway…

The problem is:

I have created a great melody line and had a little fun with the synth filters and screwing the knobs of my midi-keyboard… I got a nice idea with the filters, but when I record the knob-turns, Renoise records them as number values in the effect column. Now, if I wanted to fix/finetune those just recorded filter-effects, it is a bit difficult and time consuming…

so…
How could I convert these values into those nice automation lines? If this feature is already implemented, I’ve totally missed it…
If it is not, will it be implemented in Renoise 1.5? or later? I’d really appreciate this feature :dribble:

Thanks for your help and keep up the good work :)

Yup, it is possible. Quoted from the manual…

There was also something like holding shift or so, to put it in automation instead of effecttrack. Can someone confirm, because I’m at work now?

(try it out)

In 1.5 you can choose if slider movements should be recorded to
patterncommands or envelope automation with a simple switch.

Well, there is some difference between a pitch-slide (01xx/02xx) and VST-fiddling:

Since you always slide a tone with a pitch-command, you cannot position it relative in the Automation envelope. A value of 0 would do nothing, and a value greater than 0 would always slide upwards or downwards, depending on the command used. Not a very useful behaviour.

Not saying that the idea is bad… actually, I don’t understand why I’ve never requested something similar.

It’s separate, so you have to register here on the forum.
