Amazing!
While still on the subject of avoiding needless room noise, maybe the Samson C01U with USB connector could be an alternative? I have the C01 it’s based on (using it with the M-Audio Firewire Solo soundcard w/built in 48v pre-amp, very happy) and here you can choose between recording all round the mic, just from the front or front+back to get some room reverb.
I’ve used it in all my vocal productions so far, including:
- My own silly acapella-thingey
- Flying feat. Knut Øyvind Hagen (who is too busy to re-record, damnit!)
- My psychedelic Naaaaatn-growling
- And my latest (unfinished) chill/dark house full vocal project with my gf on the mic. Note, she’s just improvising some lyrics, it will be re-recorded early next year when we meet again.
