And how is that image on screen for a few seconds going to even influence anything you’re about to do creatively?
Just click the Renoise icon (or fire it up from the command line, whatever) then close your eyes for a few seconds while it boots up… and then you’re in there tracking some good hex shit…
I only ever had interest in changing the Ableton one because lite version is yellow, I think you could in version 8 but not anymore because the dynamic text and it’s bundled in a pack. the renoise splash screen is great and it has a very fast startup time so…
When loading a fresh new instance of Renoise, this appears on screen for me for barely 0.5 seconds here. (It flashes by so quickly it’s actually hard to say for sure.)
When loading a heavy .XRNS from Explorer then it does obviously take a few more seconds, but it’s not a period of time that makes me go “Oh my gawd, whyyeeeeeee?!!!”.
But seriously… who actually cares about this shit, and who has their creative workflow influenced or interrupted by it?!
it’s there for 4.5 seconds for me.
i see it, and don’t need to see it.
tbh i’m surprised at this somehow being such a “omfg omfg (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━━┻” for you.
indeed, the potency of your reaction actually makes me dig down my heels and insist on being able to configure it, even more.
success.
Don’t care either way, if its just quick eye candy and disabling shaves of half a second I guess it can be an option, but if the time is needed to initialise stuff anyway, disabling will feel like renoise is hanging.
I think recently fl studio added an option to hide the registration name from the splash screen as a feature as folks were apparently complaining about that lol, splash screen shenanigans run wild .
