I was thinking… if i have a volume envelope on samples, does that take up more cpu? it is a process after all…
I could probably check this for myself but I am at work…
I used fixed volume envelopes a lot to control samples so would I be better bouncing them down and using the result with out an envelope in an effort to save CPU?
I think the autosuspend feature on the VSTI’s already does a lot of miracles here albeit some vsti’s don’t like that one. Maybe a autosuspend feature on the vst plugs as well, but i doubt you would want that as well simply because Renoise has no control on how the plugins supply the output and how they consume CPU resources. VST and VSTis are the real cpu-resource devils, the internal samples played by Renoise even hardly consumes any moderate amount cpu cycles.
