Expresscard slots in laptops are becoming more popular these days. However, there aren’t any professional expresscards for sound that I know of… Is it worth it to wait or should I go for a standard PCMCIA card? Expresscard has several advantages, one of them having a larger bandwidth: does this benefit sound applications like Renoise or is there little difference in performance (e.g. latency)? For comparison, does anyone know if PCI-E soundcards have a better performance than their plain PCI counterpart?
