Feature Request:

Optional “Save Last State” for Devices (EQ, AHDR, etc.)

Device loading in Renoise works well, but it would be highly useful to add an optional “Save Last State” function for devices, especially commonly used ones such as EQ and HDSR-type tools.

At the moment, saving device configurations requires creating separate preset files for each variation. When working on large projects with many tracks, this quickly leads to file clutter and unnecessary disk usage.

Proposal:

Add an option per device (or globally via preferences) that allows the device to automatically save and restore its last used state when loaded in a new instance.

Key benefits:

  • Reduces the need for multiple saved preset files for minor variations

  • Improves workflow speed when building large projects with many tracks

  • Reduces disk usage and file clutter on the system

  • Keeps commonly used device configurations consistent across sessions

Suggested implementation direction:

  • Toggle option: “Remember last state” per device

  • Optional global setting for default behavior

  • State stored internally within Renoise project or user config cache rather than external files

This would be especially useful for frequently used processing devices where small variations are often reused rather than fully unique presets.
