Feature Voting

Was just snooping round the backstage bit and had a look at the last round of voting.
I noticed that each feature has a number of ‘credits’. Do these numbers count for individual voters, or do some voters get more than one ‘credit’ in special circumstances?

If it’s the former, then would adding up all those numbers give a rough idea of how many copies of Renoise have been registered?

Just wondering. ;)

I won’t say it here incase the devs don’t want it known (but it’s quite an impressive number).

there was a discussion on this, i dont know where the thread is tho.

the points were far more than registered users, so those numbers are no indication at all of how many users there is. i would say that if you caluclated them all together an divided them by the number of points we were given, you would get a much much lowere number. but also do need to consider that not everyone was around when the voting was going on. so for anyone in the public to figure that out, it would be pretty hard!

the voting aspect is awesome tho!

Well, next voting i would personally like to put in more weight for the amount of Mac users against Windows users for Mac specific extensions… (But i do not program the voting script unfortunately)
I really feel that AU support got too less credits because the majority of registered users are Win32 users.

I would just program the voting feature this way, that the amount of points from a Mac user would add 200%-((MIN (100% win users, 100% Mac Users) / MAX(100% win users, 100% Mac Users) * 100) * given_credits for a Mac specific feature.
Ofcourse only if Mac users are less than Windows users.
