Focusing issues between background and pop-ups

Hello, I was wondering whether this issue has been documented previously, and I want to sort out that it only occurs within Renoise.

Whenever I open a pop-up window such as VSTs’ UIs, the preferences menu, or sampler menus like adjust volume and export settings, it keeps focusing on the background (pattern editor) for a split second every time I interact with something like a button or scroll bar on the pop-up. After a couple of times focusing on the background, it finally registers what I’m supposed to do.

I tried resetting config files, reinstalling Renoise, and rescanning VSTs, but none of them resolved the issue. This happens in version 3.5.3 but not the older versions. It’s been happening for 2 days, and it’s kind of affecting my workflow. Might as well just downgrade to 3.5.2 till the next update comes out.

Am I making an error, or is this a bug in the UI? If anything, please let me know.

does turning this off make a difference?

edit; what OS are you on?

I had that turned off before, didn’t make much any difference at all
Also, I’m on Windows

Do you have any tools installed that might interfere with focus? Try disabling and enabling tools to possibly narrow down the issue in the Tool browser.

Speaking of tools, I think I found out why, it’s the annoying Discord overlay. I just had to disable it and… that’s it. The issue got resolved.

Yeah, I should’ve known this earlier actually, but thanks :folded_hands:
