I’m having problems…
This clip was recorded using the Renoise sampler. Song settings were set to “No VST’s, No VSTi’s.” Latency was set to 10 ms.
I tried a variety of different latency settings but no matter what, I keep getting these glitches. The aforementioned link being one of the worst. In contrast, recording in Garage band works fine.
I think I may have narrowed the problem down to CPU throttling.
System Preferences -> Energy Saver -> Options -> Processor Performance.
I changed “Automatic” to “Highest” and was getting more reasonable results. I will be doing more recording this afternoon. I will update this thread with my impressions of the situation.

Ha, that might be it. My GF was on her laptop while I was recording.
Anyway, problem didn’t happen this afternoon. So all is good for now, will keep my eyes open for the wifi.
