I for one will not listen to or watch anything :P Well, unless it’s a downloadable video, because the new VLC allows time stretching, and more importantly, compression! :o

Isn’t that selective data too?

Yes it is. This is one of the problems of both sides of the argument.

I think the problem is seeing it as “two sides” to begin with.

The questions to me just are:

  1. what is going on? (NOT: “is X going on”, with X being for example global warming, or a media conspiracy of the oil industry / left / right / middle / aliens / people living inside our hollow earth)

  2. what of 1. is caused by us?

(3. what can we do about 2., and what sort of meditation techniques will help us deal with 1. ?)

that’s complicated enough… but splitting it up into two TOTALLY MADE UP STANCES and then only looking at stuff to see if it fits one way or another… shamelessly ignoring, twisting or outright destroying anything that does NOT fit… obviously hoping that "my side"™ will WIN (not by argument, by sheer force) and therefore “prove” it is right (and me therefore, too)… well, that’s BS, which I won’t get tired to repeat.

This is a book i’m reading at the moment “the world without us”.
I would recommend it to all of you…
makes for some seriously interesting reading.

I think you nailed it Bantai.

I also think I found who your hypothetical Illuminati may be:
http://www.iamthewitness.com/DarylBradfordSmith_Rothschild.htm

Green tax → more debt we owe to the “Roths-banks” → the noose tightens on people like you and I in a very tangible way.

The key to climbing the ladder is to become someone like Mark Zuckerberg or Eric Schmidt. The hard part is managing to keep your head on straight by the time you get there. Being allowed to live comes at the price of compliance with the powers that be.

Oh ffs… the Illuminati was a group of freethinkers that started in Bavaria, and didn’t make it much past the French revolution.

Watch these videos if you want to know the truth behind the Illuminati and the Freemasons… this was produced by the history channel, not some cooky conspiracy radio hosts:

One of the biggest proponents of the idea that the Illuminati is controlling the world is David Icke… and David Icke thinks the Illuminati is a race of shape shifting lizard people from outer space.

I was referring to Illuminati as a stereotype, to mean “world dominating secret society”. Though a group with that particular name wields no such influence today, the influence of the Rothschild family is real, it is world-dominating, and it is of course obfuscated very heavily.

Of course, it’s absolutely difficult to believe the world actually has such a perversely tiny, powerful, immoral ruling class. But indulge your inner nutjob just for a second :) and read this history of the Rothschild family just once.

Yeah, he’s a tool.

Interesting read! :) One of the most interesting parts of having studied journalism is that you get to read and see certain things so crazy, people wouldn’t even believe them if they were actually published. Some of those things pop up in articles like these, which make them all the more interesting. It’s ironic how putting a halt on something like freedom of speech, can save the lives of thousands of others. And it’s painful to realize that censorship is often actually the last peacekeeper.

Interesting, can you point me to some examples? (not coming from any angle here, as I said interested)

edit: also peacetime examples.

Nothing specific, no. It’s been 5 years, I can’t remember nifty details and what can I say about the reliability of the source, except that I trusted it? It will always be ‘his word against mine’, which makes those things a blurry field of work. Besides, we like to think in terms of right and wrong, but obviously things are always more complex. That, and everything written by man was written from a perspective: winners write the history-books, a terrorist is also a freedom-fighter… People need scapegoats and always will, so it’s only too easy to point a finger and put the blame on someone or some group, neglecting to see any bigger picture. A bigger picture meaning: even considering the ‘enemy’ point of view.

So no, can’t point you to something specific. It’s just that media covers from a certain perspective with one or two goals: make money and/or serve a government. Journalism is just another place where people work so they can stay alive. Some people say everything happens for a reason, but in the real world, every reason is a happening.

Thanks for response. Yes can certainly agree that things can be very complex and often contextual. I personally tend to err on the side of freedom of speech in most general contexts, so was interested in counter arguements.

I’ve no doubt families such as the Rothschild family hold significant power over large chunks of the planet… but when people like Alex Jones start spewing their bullcrap about how the NWO is planning on killing off half the planet using the environmentalist agenda, I get slightly peeved. It’s not in a big banker’s best interest to reduce the population.

Reading that document right now… shit like this is entirely unfounded:

The Illuminati’s aim was well documented:

So Mr Weishaupt plainly had a secular agenda.

However, the document you liked to also claims the following, despite any historical evidence of such:

In reality, the Rockefeller and Morgan families are just as powerful as the Rothschild family… and their agendas are most likely quite simple: Keep making money by any means necessary, so as to keep their bases of power. They do so through quite simple means: Promote ideals of conformity in society through the use of religion, capitalism, and patriotism. People will become willing serfs if they feel they’re at risk of eternal damnation.
