Have you considered a pair of ‘in ear’ headphones?
M-Audio do a range licenced from ultimate ears- i’ve not used the maudios-
I’ve got a pair of sonys, and i’ve heard some of sennheisers are reference quality.
In ears are quite delicate too.
I also use sennheiser HD25 (cans) - but they are far too bass heavy according to popular opinion - they sound like a nightclub sound system and i shouldn’t be allowed to mix with a hieghtened bass end - rather i should mix with enriched mids and trebles instead and try to guess what the bass is doing.
