How Can I Do Skip Notes?

By skip notes I mean…

Say I am writing out a riff…
And I want the notes to fall on every OTHER note instead of right next to each other…
As of now I have to keep hitting the down key to skip a note so there one space in between each note…
Is there a way to automate it so it just auto skips a space?

Having to press the down key in between notes is really making it hard for me to write riffs…

Cheers for the help!

Change the edit step. You can use Control + a number key to change that. There is an option somewhere too.

Control+2 makes the cursor skip every other line.

Ahh omg!
That’s exactly what I needed!

Thanks so much :)

I have one more question then…

I use my midi keyboard…
And when I want to hit two notes at once, it records both notes individually, is there a way that it will record them in one note?
Or do I need to open up a side note collum and place it next to the note?

If you are using 2.1, then you need to hold the shift key while pressing the chord.
If you are trying 2.5Beta, you can also just hold the keys sequentially and the chord will automatically expand itself.

i really like how that works in 2.5 now. just repeatdly hitting big, two handed chords until the velocity is just right for each individual note. righteousssz

Ah this is great,

Many many thanks for all the help everyone!

If we had a rep system, ud get all my kudos!
