The Mixer volume in the automation device regulates the pre fx mixer volume, but I would like to be able to automate the post fx volume.
Is there something I missed? How could I automate the mixer post volume?
Short answer: You can’t.
The post mixer was intended to be a static level for each track, where you make your final adjustments and simply leave it alone when it’s correct.
Nevertheless, this question does pop up from time to time, and obviously some people such as yourself would like to automate the post mixer no matter what it was originally designed for. We may rethink things at some point in the future, I’m not quite sure.
In the meantime, if you want to automate volume fades at that point in the mix, then you should insert a Gainer as the last device in your chain and automate that instead.
