I would like to hear your music made with Renoise or other Daws

Iā€™m not one of those who can give advice,
but right after the first notes it evoked Gary Numen in me.
Donā€™t ask why. I donā€™t know.
If there was more echo and reverb, it would remind me of Sisters Of Mercy a little.
Reverb is life and I wouldnā€™t mind echo at all when singing.
Good old dark days

I did, and I like what Iā€™ve heard. Imho this is your best one. And thereā€™s potential for a Synthwave version. :slightly_smiling_face:
I really like your composition, the interaction of instruments, every melody and of course your singing as well. But you really need to be more careful while recording your singing. At the very end you can clearly hear a double mouse click to end your recording. Donā€™t hurry! Wait at least 5-10 seconds after your singing has ended before you stop recording. You also need to adjust the volume of your singing. Compared to the instrumentals itā€™s pretty loud. I donā€™t mind the dry sound, but your singing would benefit by putting a slight reverb on it and maybe cut some low ends The synth melody at the very beginning of your song sounds very familiar. Iā€™m pretty sure that I know a track that has exactly the same melody, but I canā€™t tell which one. Anyway, it doesnā€™t matter, because itā€™s a very simple one and it fits to your song. I also especially like how you build up your song and how you bring back that melody at 1:29. Now you have to adjust the volume, because this melody is louder than the beat and the drums. And when it comes to the drums thereā€™s still some work to do. The beat and especially the kick is pretty flat and silent without punch, furthermore it gets drown out by the sub and the synth bass, but especially by the sub. I think thereā€™s too much bass in general, which leads to a muddy sound, too. Some cuts in terms of low end are recommended. You didnā€™t sidechain anything, did you? When I summarize everything I can say your song is great, but the mix is not. Improve the mix and your song will be much greater. And Iā€™m really glad that you didnā€™t say ā€œpick up your noseā€. If you want to pick up your nose you must either have lost is somewhere before or your nose is waiting for you somewhere, for example at the train station. You can pick it up from the ground or you can pick it up from the train station or wherever. You got it!

THanks friend.THis is the first take i posted here ,there is a lot to do and this is made in BitWig and i dont know this software very well but i figured why not try something different for a change ,and what do you know it came out beautifully, but i think it has nothing to do in what software we use,its us making it happen.Maybe when i finish this you will make a Synthwave version or a remix?.I miss the Renoise chorus in bitwig. We must ask taktik to make vst versions of all the effects if its possible.

There are already many different Chorus VSTs, just grab the one you like. So youā€™re using Bitwig now? I thought you were looking for hardware stuff to be able to turn knobs by hand.

If you wish and thereā€™s some time left, why not? In this case just send me the stems of your singing and Iā€™ll make something new out of it. Of course I would use Renoise and not Bitwig. But for now Iā€™m looking forward to your fancy properly mixed version of your song. Just do it!

I got a electribe 2 and a Roland tr8s both used of cource, sold them both as they were not for me ,but i am still searching for hardware grooveboxes. What do you use?

You already know. This is my LEGENDARY home studio. :joy:
Now Iā€™ve also got studio monitors, but I donā€™t use them for mixing because they lack low ends. Instead I use my studio headphones and my 32 years old common hifi speakers. Thatā€™s all I need. No hardware, no knobs, just a computer, Renoise and several VSTs.

Thatā€™s a great sounding song! Love the '80s laid back vibe in there

Yeah, kinda has some old Depeche mode vibes. @stoiximan nice tune. Definitely take @TNT 's advice and rework the mix. Bring that snare forward, too! :v:

Holy shit dude. Without disparaging the other music youā€™ve posted previously - this feels like a big step up in content, production and arrangement. Really like this, like a lot.

Thank you. I actually almost forgot to render and post this track as when i made it a couple of weeks ago it used too much cpu and i kinda gave it up and started a new project. Yesterday i found this xrns with a weird temporary name so i just had to check what it was and it was this track.

Everything ā€¦but perhapsā€¦ too much?

Minutes ago I just have uploaded a song that Iā€™ve made 10 years ago:

It was one of those songs that didnā€™t satisfy me after finishing it 10 years ago, so I kept it all those years on my drive. A few weeks ago I browsed through my hundrets of xrns songs on my drive and I was thinking that it still has some potential with a few changes and additions. So thatā€™s what I did and now itā€™s on Soundcloud. For those who canā€™t listen to ā€œloudā€ music just like @lilith, this song has got exactly -11,5 LUFS and hence it should be one of my softer songs.

@stoiximan
I was thinking about your song and had the thought that you could also make a kind of competition in terms of remixing. Your song would sound cool in so many different styles. I cannot only imagine a Synthwave version, but also Elektro, Pop, Rock, Jungle, whatever. I assume youā€™ve finished the song in the meantime?

@TheBellows Solancaceae is a nice little tune. Has something rather cute about it. I like the sounds in Slipping through, especially towards the of the track.

@TNT Sweet! It may be softer than your usual stuff, but it does pack a nice punch. There are some really neat sections in that tune.

I like the idea of the stoiximan tune remix contest.

@stoiximan Indeed! How is it going with your song?

Thanks! Luckily it seems no one has noticed that the zap (or laser) that runs in parallel to the hihats (and can be heard primarily on the left speaker) should have been slightly lowpassed. As always Iā€™ve noticed it after uploading, because it sounds slightly different on Soundcloud. And sometimes this is good for identifying small ā€œissuesā€ā€¦At this point a question comes to mind. What if youā€™re uploading as a private song first so you could also check the mix after Soundcloud treatment, and afterwards switch from private to public? Does Soundcloud treat the song like a fresh upload when switching from private to public, or is this a silent switch without any effects?

I think itā€™s a ā€œsilent switchā€ ie the song is the same, whether public or private

Great idea. Now i am trying to mix the track but still not very satisfied and as you know i am not cut out for mixing tasks its not my thing.Great track as always

Its hard for me to mix stuff, lack of knowledge and i really dont like the mixing stage but i will force my self and see how it goes.

Maybe make a stems pack and see if anyone wanna have a go at mixing it, I would certainly love a try at itā€¦
