This is by accident then… Maybe I got influenced somehow
Just another j-pop 8bit remix/rework :
- no VST (all synths generated in Renoise)
- Gameboy drums samples from @midierror
This has a strong snes/psx vibe. Definitely with a hint of Final Fantasy in there. Recorded this track 15 years ago with my friend counterclockwise.
My kind of vibe. This was fantastic!!!
Instrumental Hip Hop… 100% written, sequenced, mixed, produced in Renoise… Mastered in Wavelab 10!
Lack of loudness
My track? Has a dynamic range of 6 - 8 decibels
You sub-basses are mono?
The frequencies just under 150 are mono, and frequencies above that have been expanded by about 40%
So you have good subs…
disturbing…and goods👌
Thank you
the fact is that your track focus on low end…disturbing
good training…
you begin with the end…
Keep up the good work
Too much distortion
A lot of clashing frequencies. The kick and that bass are killing each other. You need to work on it some more for better groove and a better bass line and where is the snare? this type of track needs a good snare.I my self have a hard time with drums so dont be afraid to use some kind of vst drum machine it will go well with this track
Thank you for the feedback. Bit of an experimental track for me - the drums are heavily filtered on a send, and then blended back in with the original signal. Really the first time I ever put a track on Soundcloud that has such chopped up and re-sequenced vocal samples.
A friend of mine - a drummer, called me after he heard the track. He actually didn’t mention any of those items in terms of the mix. He did say, “there was too much vocal sample.”
Overall, I found the track very difficult to balance. Everything is very hi-gain, the bass is very hi-gain, the synths are very layered, and everything is very compressed. There is a trend in U.S. music right now, to provide heavily filtered drums, very reverbed, and sitting back in the mix
Could be the first time I dropped a track with so much filtering on drums trying to create a movement. May not have worked…
Hip hop besides the good lyrics and raper is all about the groove. When you make a beat have others listen to it and watch them if they move,if they do then you did the groove right and dont follow the trends do what feels right to you
I grew up in NYC. Which is where hip hop was invented… I grew up in the 80s, in the city, during hip hop’s infancy.
Still have birth certificate lying around from the last time I renewed my passport…
Then you have no excuse making a beat like that .I am just teasing you no hard feelings alright
