I would like to hear your music made with Renoise or other Daws

Nice. Reminds be a bit of some of the more chiptuney stuff from the Fasttracher II days. Dubmood or Zabutom vibes.

I remember using this a while back to mono-fy a few tracks: GVST - GMonoBass

It turned pretty good i may say, simple but very well crafted

You call this unfinished ?If it was my track i would call it a day and release it as is  .Be careful not to overproduce it because it sounds good already

I would like to fall asleep and die while sleeping, but as long as this doesnā€™t happen Iā€™m listening to music every time when itā€™s possible. I donā€™t remember everything you posted, but this one is for sure one of your best tracks. I like the composition. Somehow it reminds me of RGB OSTs on Amiga. Well done, thanks for that. :slightly_smiling_face:

At 0:45 you write that youā€™re using Imager and you donā€™t know any free VST which can monoize easily. Use GMonoBass like @highway_rehab suggested. Iā€™m using it, too, and I can say it does the job quite well

You donā€™t have to mention this anymore, but you should emphasize if a song is finishedā€¦ :upside_down_face:
Nice! Good chords, nice instrument choice. I prefer the first half of the song until 1:32 and my favorite part starts at 0:46. The last minute needs some slightly out of tune fixings, but I guess you did it on purpose. Honestly I donā€™t like the synths at 1:40 in combination with the bassā€™ note, but thatā€™s just my taste. I already mentioned that I would like to hear your finished music made with Renoise or other DAWs, right? I couldnā€™t find anything. Guess what you get if youā€™re searching for ā€œFFXā€ on Youtube or elsewhere? Right, Final Fantasy Xā€¦ Whereā€™s your old stuff?

That was meant as a pun on the title of the song which translated from latin means something like "sleep inducingā€™ or ā€˜deadlyā€™. Haha, like anyone would actually catch that, i see how the comment could be misinterpreted. :stuck_out_tongue:
Glad you liked the track and i sure hope you wonā€™t die in your sleep anytime soon.

Donā€™t worry, I probably will create a lot more crappy tunes before itā€™s finally time to go.
I didnā€™t pay attention to the title, I just hit play immediately. But I also like the title and of course I always appreciate some proper terminology. When it comes to Elektro I also prefer titles like that. So thanks for ā€œSomniferumā€, I didnā€™t know this word (in english), all I knew is ā€œsomnusā€ and ā€œsomnolentā€.

Somniferum is the species of poppy plants that produces opium, Papaver somniferum.

Appropriate title for that lovely tune of yours @TheBellows . It is quite trippy, indeed. Taking me on a colourful journey. I like it! Well done!!

Nueuro, I love your sound designs stuff. And your visual style is cute. As for it being it taste, that works! Iā€™m hungry for a full Neuro_No_Neuro track.

That is a cute tune, I like it! If you donā€™t mind me saying, I thought the ending was rather weak. It just kinda stops with no real conclusion to the story. They way it is building up in the last 30 seconds or so I expected some kind of ā€œstatementā€ or resolution. Proper musical punctuation to wrap up the track. Anyway, that is just how I feel about it.

Thank you. Yeah, old game music is definitely in my DNA.

That is a neat trick indeed. Iā€™m gonna give that a shot. I always find it fun to do things with just Renoiseā€™s native tools. Thanks for that explanation.

Thanks Iā€™ll happily take that! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thank you both. Iā€™ve downloaded GMonoBass and gonna try it out. @TheBellows suggestion of using the mulitband send is cool but having a just a simple plugin is a lot more convenient. And a free option is always great!

Thank you @stoiximan. I was short on time with the deadline looming so I tried to keep it simple. Which is probably what I should do more often anyway. It makes me happy to hear that you think it is well crafted though.

This is my first EP release in over 15 years that I used something other than renoise to create the music. I used my MPC One I got back in March earlier this year. Frozen Desert EP

I also made a YouTube video for one of the tracks on the EP to share on Akai MPC forum places Falling Feather -:| MPC One Track |:- - YouTube

Thanks eretsua!
Just to clarify, i do not use opium and would never recommend it to others either, itā€™s just a title.

I did a short piece inspired by the micropolyphony music of Gyƶrgy Ligeti. Famously used in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

The video morphs slowly so stay focused.

Photosensitive people be warned. It has some mild flashing lights towards the end.

Let me know what you think!

Oh man that was special!!Thanks for the heads up about the flashing lights, many others forget to mention about these kind of things

You donā€™t even need a plot when you have a soundtrack like that.

Hereā€™s another one i made today:

Another random from the past (name changed semi randomly because it was some garbled nonsense as usual).

I noticed i had forgotten to turn off the dry vocal bits in my first upload, so iā€™ve fixed that and uploaded the new version now.

I like the music, but to me the mix ruins it. I think the problem is too much and wrong type of reverbs which takes over the mix and leaves very little presence in the different elements.
I donā€™t like the square sounding lead synth that much either, i think if you replace that with some proper grand piano or convincing sounding pump organ it would sound a lot better than this synth.

Reverb soup is my thing (love/hate relationship) and mixing clearly is not.
And Iā€™ve always liked that ā€œcomputer game from 80sā€ sounding thing, but my tastes are not anywhere near what could be considered normal.

Reverbs are very challenging to get right, i have no experience with the expensive commercial reverbs so i canā€™t speek for those, but iā€™ve tried so many free ones and there arenā€™t a single one that works for everything. My favorite atm is OrilRiver btw.

I also like C64 music and such, but that synth does not remind me of that and the fact that reverb wasnā€™t even available so they needed to use other tricks to get a rich and full sound, like PWM and arpeggios. So even if square wave synths are often being used in old game music, using it the way you do in this track does not make it sound like 80s game music imo.
