Lekker!
Cool; sounds live.
YES! Nice, very very nice indeed. More please.
Drum heaven!!!
Thanx
Saattueessa, done with Reaper.
Hey @talby ! Welcome to the Renoise forum. I didnāt really know what to expect with that tumbnail of older people holding prizes, but I didnāt expect this. Anyway, itās a fun little track. There is definitely a development in there that I enjoy. Like more and more pieces of the puzzle get added to form the picture. Though, I do feel that it takes a bit too long before it reveals itself. For my tastes, anyway. Regardless, neat little track!
@Terada cool stuff!! It has a nice tight sound, well done on that. That short little squeegee 303-bass-ish sound is fantastic! The first time the pads come around they donāt really work for me. They feel a bit aimless to me. The second time they come works a lot better for me. That fast bell arpeggio part around the 2 minute mark is once again pushing my buttons in the right way. And when the drums feel like they speed up and intensify at the end is super tasty! Very well done indeed!
@Cursed cool track. Iām not a big fan of having to open another tab to play your track so I nearly missed it. Your music has a wonderful atmosphere. The main guitar melody is easy to follow but the drums are so quiet and lack impact. Making the whole track feel kind lackluster in my ears. Maybe Iām misremembering, so correct me if Iām wrong. But a while back I think you were trying to improve your mixes, right? I think that this track could use some more mixing love & attention. Thatās how I feel anyway.
This is really really good!!
Really nice.
@eretsua
Thanks for the comments! Yes, the songs were part of a bigger group that worked originaly a bit like scores, or parts of a score (for certain vague scenes, a mild conversation in a bar, a tenser context like a fight, an escape attempt, etc). Some mix diferent scenes. But in the end they all shared, i hope, an ironic tone. The album is called āThe stories of the woman that killed dogsā, and each song is a story of, well, a killing, except the 4th song that works like an intermission and that translates as āThe killing is not over yetā, and is a little joke with a reference to a film, āla guerre est finieā from Alain Resnais, that i very much like.
A little warning to myself cause I have let myself get fat these last years. All done inside Renoise, then ran a few of the drums through my Analog Heat. Quick & dirty.
Warning: This video contains flashing images.
Thanks, all and any feedback is appreciated! Iāll try to look into that more closely in the future.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback, much appreciated!
New ep will be out on september on WĆ©MĆØ Records!
Made in 1994/1995āish in protracker on the Amiga, out now on a compo;
They did some mixing to the hardpanned amiga original, so it sounds a little different as intended. I have the original recording here;
no external samples, no synths, no single-cycle waveforms
original:
Neat stuff! A friend turned me onto Sven Noon a while ago, good stuff! So did he do an open call for remixes? If so, are there stems available anywhere? And if not, how did you approach your reconfiguration? What was your process?
Not that there is anything wrong with it, but one thing that becomes immediately apparent when listing to your mix and the original back to back is how much more open Noonās original sounds. Your mix is quite thick in the lower mids. I always struggle with that area myself. Never feel like I get that exactly right. Not meaning to imply that you didnāt. Itās just that to me your mix sounds a bit more sluggish. Which could be what you were going for, of course.
Anyway, cool reconfiguration!
@Jonas Sweet old school stuff! Nicely done on the remix. I love me some hard panning but the original takes it a couple of steps too far. The new mix definitely has a nice combination of the amiga cruchiness but with a more modern punch, I like that. Neat!
The samples are in the description of the original track on soundcloud
My process was just chopping the stems and designing new sounds from that
Made it in a couple of days, so didnāt really bother mixing. Anyway iām not a good mixer
Odd speed/breaks/tribal type stuff
Some nasty gabber/glitch/breaks
