you may examine this. it is a commodore 64 6581 SID, and 10 voices.
you might not hear it clearly on all sounds, but that is because i stereo widened some sounds. this is not the final mix, i will have to timestretch some samples.
Hi!
I’m releasing a small EP with 3 tracks made out of my recent Renoise sounds based on single cycled sine-wave sample.
As bonus, you got a remix of the last track made using an Impulse Response created also by me (and included in the download as free to use file).
There are also some images that represent channel strips of the release cover art.
Enjoy!

I tweaked some old stuff and put it on Bandcamp…

Mars Wind - She Is A Subwoofer
.
Enjoy!
(Or don’t… do whatever the heck you want!)
The only sound source was a crude phone recording of my son (or daughter’s) heartbeat. I’ve never collaborated with the unborn before, and I’m not sure if anyone else has tried this but I think anything else I do is going to be shit in comparison ![]()
I made two versions of that track. One version with kick and snare and a second more ambient version.
Curious what you like better.
I have now released the ‘We are not robots’ I-III as an EP on bandcamp.
Is it a good idea to keep the tracks on soundcloud, or remove them when they are released on bandcamp? What is your experience?
Nice track! On scrawny laptop speakers I like the first one a little bit better, but they are both good. Monitors will be probably the same.
I liked the ambient version more.
So what system did you play in the shop from morning to evening while skipping school?
Made 20 years ago? That’s nice. I like “Ghost” from the 1985 EP, sounds like stuff I’ve heard in the 80s. But overall I prefer the Mars Wind stuff. Track 1 and 4 are my favorites.
Kick and snare version > Ambient version
I don’t know anyone who has removed stuff on SoundCloud just because it was also released on Bandcamp. Doesn’t make sense. Unless you’re releasing something on a label that would like to have exclusive rights for a certain time. I “had to” do this once, so I set the track that was released on a label to private, and a couple of weeks later I set it back to normal.
WHat is the advantage of having same track on both SC and BC?
Why will someone pay to hear a track on bandcamp, when the same track can be heard for free on SC?
Not that I expect any payment at this stage (but you never know…
)
So i’m a little confuzed…
These little thingies
.Of course there were also Billiard Tables,ping pong etc.Now about money, i didnt have a lot but there were some lets just say workarounds (cheating}
We use to have little holes in coins and a very thin twine so we could take the same coin out of the machine
. Also there were some old expired old coins that tricked the machine ,but i guess you must know all this.
I personally just did it with my old stuff because BC generally has a higher playback quality on the web, but also being able to easily offer whole EPs/albums in a single download in WAV/FLAC format. (Making a few dollars from selling my stuff would also be nice, but it’s not why I use the platform.)
I’m also trying to get off SC because it’s an endless headache of horrible spam bots EVERY TIME I POST SOMETHING, despite my endless blocking and complaints to SC staff. It’s just not a fun experience anymore, and I don’t want to continue giving them my money if they’re not willing to help…
Boo hoo, right? ![]()
You can link your BC with SC, resulting in a higher potential of getting listeners.
The track can be heard on Bandcamp for free as well, right? You don’t need to pay when it comes to listening to the track. You should pay if you want to support the artist and increase chances that the artist continues to create and release stuff. ![]()
I’ve heard of it, but never did it myself. In fact I can’t remember playing Arcade, I possibly never did. I only played pinball a couple of times. But I owned a C64 and later got Amiga too, so… ![]()
SoundCloud was getting worse during the past years, but when it comes to spambot activity it seems to be way less than 2 years ago, at least in my experience. Anyway, seemingly traffic has increased, so who cares. According to @lilith Audius could be an option.
I dunno, mate. For me, at least, I’ve got hundreds of bots in my block list from the past year alone. I can guarantee that if I post anything to SC it will be plagued by fake/AI big titty spam whores begging for likes or asking me (and my friends) to follow some other shitty spam account. It honestly never ends…
I’m done.
Edit:
This is from the past 1-2 years alone.
And it goes on and on and on and on…
Over the decades it’s been THOUSANDS of these spammers…
Fuck’em.
I know listening on Bandcamp is free. But as how i understand it, a track can be heard ,lets say 3 times, and then the 4th time and on, you have to pay to hear it ‘forever’ or donwload it?
Just so I understand the benefit of moving to bandcamp ![]()
I think the playback behaviour is entirely up to you (as a BC artist/seller/publisher/whatever), mate.
I’ve set all my shit to public, so I hope you can reach it without handing over money or encountering playback limits.
(Please let me know if you ever get limited!)
I did add some prices to my shit… $5 for an EP, $10 for an album… but I think that’s pretty fair, right? And you (or you should?) always be able to listen for free…
The artist can adjust its behavior in the settings: https://get.bandcamp.help/hc/en-us/articles/23020694060183-What-are-streaming-limits-on-Bandcamp
And as a listener you can simply clear your browser cache or browse incognito in case the popup window “The time has come to open thy heart/wallet.” appears and prevents from listening. But normally you can just simply x the window and continue listening. So in any case someone can listen on BC for free forever without buying anything. But what I’ve learnt this year is the fact that the audio quality of those free listenings (128 kbps) actually sucks, so if you want to listen to the real deal you gotta purchase.
That’s wild. Personally I’ve noticed only a couple of spam bot actions on my profile within the past 2 years, but they were always getting deleted within days so I didn’t have to react myself. I didn’t need to block anything during that time. Before that I always had to delete and block a lot of bot activity myself every time I was releasing something, just like you’re describing it. Maybe it’s because your account is way bigger than mine, I don’t know.
Absolutely! An album that contains more than 10 tracks should cost 10 € at least, no need to go too cheap. 1 € for each track should always be the starting point imho.
Not sure about the exact genre of this, but making it was endless pain:
I tried Bandcamp and got exactly zero plays so I don’t know what’s the point. SoundCloud folks at least are trying.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I have atleast got 7 plays so far, but most plays are by a person I know, so that may not count really.. ![]()
So I also doubt the benefit about it, or have i missed something?
Anyone with good tips about branding on bandcamp?
