I would like to hear your music made with Renoise or other Daws

hi

so i made this remix for Ndorfik’s track Saimaa, using Renoise / Paketti

he sent me 8 audiofiles and an Ableton Live project, I loaded it and thought, geez, no way am i gonna be doing this chopping manually yet again - been doing it for 28 years now and it’s always a drag and a timesink - so i wrote the Paketti Stem Slicer - which will ask for a BPM and calculate the slices and extract wavefiles, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2 or 1 beat chunks out of the content.

then it saves them to the external folder - and doesn’t bother saving silence, and the “Load as Drumkit” will load all of them separately, max 120 samples per drumkit, which you can then just jam. it’ll load 64 beats to 1 kit, 32 to 1 kit, 16 to 1 kit etc. and then they all come in with Pakettification ( the 8 macros, pitchbend, cutoff, resonance, cutoff lfo amp, cutoff lfo freq, overdrive, parallel compression, pitchbend glide inertia )

then i started building and building and building, and here’s the result. the arrangement was greatly assisted by the usual “set note offs to current pattern all tracks” & “Set note offs to first pattern of the whole song” - and the “duplicate current pattern above, and clear muted tracks”.. did a bunch of modifications and there it is. the stemslicer really brought me a bunch of joy since it’s just so easy to just slice all the remix material and find happy accidents.

got something else coming out in december, too. will post that when it’s live.

Fantastic music and thanks for the description. Looking forward to working with stem slicer. I have plenty of unfinished projects in Live that I’ve been meaning to mangle in Renoise.

Hi Folks, here my new Renoise Song using the Omnisphere 3 update, really great Sounds and instrument automation works great.

great composition, I like it! what are your musical influences?

Working out the sample mangling muscles:

I’m unsure about the second bassline that enters at 1:30. I had it playing through the whole piece initially, but eventually favored the sub kick. I left the bassline for a few patterns, it does the job I guess, but it’s not something I usually would do.

cheers man, I’ll consider that. probably for next track cause I’d just confuse myself bringing in more elements at this point.

Really nice! Autechre vibes, but a little softer. :+1:

I always have to think of Enigma - Sadeness when I hear that beat.

Technically this is your best so far imho, good job. Do you think the upgrade from Omnisphere 2 to 3 is worth 180 €? I’m not convinced, what I’ve seen from Omnisphere 3 was kinda underwhelming. I’ll keep v2 for now.

Sounds good. Personally I would bring it alternately at some point, right now the “bass synth” is playing throughout the whole piece.

thanks, well when it comes to Electonic the usual classics like Jarre, Vangelis, Kraftwerk etc. Also the Demoscene Musicians from the early nintees (for e.g Future Crew with Purple Motion, Skaven). But in general also Rock/Pop inspires me, I like Depeche Mode, Muse, Radiohead, Archive to name a few.

Thanks, yes the Omnisphere 3 upgrade was not an easy decision but in the end the sound demos on YouTube convinced me, they really added a lot of nice sounds to the database. Agree that functionality was not really a revolution vs 2 , have not used the Mutation option yet but this seems to be the highlight. Their FX effect you can use now global in Renoise for other Instruments if you want.

Song i made for BOF21, a rhythm game content (got disqualified)

my first time making house

Cool, thanks for the feedback. I was actually not talking about the detuned saw bass at all, but I think you’re right. The track could definitely benefit from having a section without it.

Been a while. Here’s some jungle
