I would like to hear your music made with Renoise or other Daws

Kids have parents, kids want the premium options in games they play (particular skins, extras), parents end up paying  .

Hmm, still sounds bit fishy. Maybe I’ll have a look at it, but imo those things are probably the stupidest things I think you can spend money on, so I’m not too keen on the idea.

It isn’t only skins, some of these game makers are smart, they hook kids into the free base game, but then they offer ā€˜premium’ options which they can subscribe to through the wallet of their parents. So every month its ka’ching $$. Someone described roblox as youtube for games, there are many game types and I guess the ones that go viral are the most profitable, while the majority isn’t (assumption on my part, I’m sure google has better answers :)) .

here’s my new lofi track, guitar-driven. I ended up recording the guitar lines in Reaper but the song is made in Renoise

I’ve never heard of Roblox before that interview and I don’t care at all, but obviously it’s a platform for many self made games and those teens who are creating Roblox games are rich, that’s for sure.

In order to earn some pocket money on the side? If so, you’ll need more than a YouTube channel, especially if there’s music only. And the music style has to be consistent all the way. No one will listen to a wild mixture of everything.

Never too late to join the party. Here’s a bit of progressive trance that’ll feature as the first full-length showcase of my hobby project vst3 plugin. All renoise + the plug, no externals whatsoever, not even renoise built-ins. Mp3 and xrns over here Release Demo track 1 Ā· sjoerdvankreel/firefly-synth-2 Ā· GitHub

Oh, the music is not something i expect to make money from, everything can’t be about money. The plan is to make music videos to all my music on Youtube and i want to use it as a kind of portifolio to show what i can do. I’ve been working on a workflow for making videos by doing most of the editing in Renoise, so it opens up for a lot of possibilities. Eventually i would like to be able to offer professional videos for musicians at a fairly low price without using ai. I also plan to start a channel for short videos made using ai, silly dry humour clips. I was supposed to post an easter themed clip today, but i’m on a laptop and the current video render takes about 50 hours so i can’t touch the computer. I hope to have a clip go viral one day, but it’s just a little experiment. I’m also supposed to be working on creating assets and a game, but i end up underestimating the time it takes and i have just this one laptop. Other projects i work on, though not to make money, is 3d printing, designing machines and such, currently working on a workshop vacuum and a rock tumbler. At the same time i have full time work and my hobby finding rocks and minerals. No wonder why things takes time…

So in the end it’s about the money though.

Kinda like what @stoiximan did. As long as you’re having fun…

Don’t put too much effort into YouTube! It’s a false hope. There are a lot of people who had big plans and ended up being heavily disappointed, like ā€œMikeā€ who dreamed to make a living by creating videos full time like tutorials about how to use plugins, about music theory, about composing and so on. Not a chance! You could also play the lottery then…
Personally if I would like to make money on the side without any effort, I would stream myself playing cool AAA and AA story videogames.

I just thought it’s fun to make those shorts and when I finished building my desktop I will beble to produce much faster, so they are low effort fun things. If they don’t catch on it’s not like I invested my life into them. I have some faith in the game I make, it’s not gonna be a huge seller, but could possibly catch on in the indie game market as it’s quite unique. Some isometric asset packs with tilesets could also become profitable as the market for good assets is far from flooded and now that everyone wants to make games using ai it could bring in some cash.

So in the end it’s about the money though.
Well, it’s my art and I want to show it. I wouldn’t say money is the main reason for making art, but if I could make a buck on it, then why not?
