Image converter of the forum, little optimized?

I love uploading and sharing content on the Renoise forums.And in this act so pleasant, sometimes I intend to upload large images, for example:

  • A original image PNG , 2080x 1080 pixels 32 bits , 243KB.
  • The converter of the forum save this image PNG with 1200 x 588 pixels (1200 wide) 32 bits , 302KB.

Reduces the image dramatically and takes up more space!

Would not it be better not to convert the image?It looks better for users and for the server.I do not remember well, but with JPG I think it happens similar…
