I use OSX, and lot of audio editor don’t use extensions (DSP Quattro), and I’ve got errors when I try to load the files to Renoise. They are proper audio files, just without extensions…
Is there any way to solve this?
Aside from renaming the file and attach an extension to it, you could try to rightclick the file and then select “Load file with options”. You could then select sample specific parts to configure and hope Renoise loads the sample properly.
Renoise uses the extensions to have at least some idea with what kind of file it is dealing with.
Perhaps a routine could be implemented that renoise attempts to figure out what kind of file it is dealing with, but that will take longer loadingtimes because no extension means it could then just be anything (midi, audio or songfile)
