Importing patterns?

Hello

I was wondering if there was any way to import patterns into other patterns.

For example, if I have a few measures of weirdness saved as an .xrns file that I realize might fit in pretty well in another project.

I guess that would mean note data, instruments and DSPs, and possibly multiple tracks, so probably totally impractical from a technical point of view. It’s occurred to me a couple of times that it could be useful, but then again, maybe it’s just my amateurish way of working.

I don’t know if this came up before, I thought I’d ask in case there was something I was missing.

There was something called XRNS merger, but I never used it… and I_think_ it was back for 2.8.

I agree that this would be awesome. This is one of my favorite things about Ableton – you can drag any .als file into your existing set and it will just load up its tracks. Really, really cool.

I guess one can use the sampler that way, using phrases and effects chains etc. but I thought it might be cool if it could work from the Pattern Matrix.
